Two days on campus and Millar Berry is already hitting the ground running! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

As an incoming marketing major in the College of Business and member of the Honors College, Millar has already jumped right into the ECU experience. After returning from her Ocracoke trip with fellow Brinkley-Lane Scholars, she's officially moved into her residence hall and is ready for classes to begin!

From day one, Millar has been embracing every opportunity to learn, lead, and connect. With an incredible educational experience ahead of her, we can't wait to see the impact she'll make both inside and outside the classroom.

Welcome to ECU, Millar! The adventure is just getting started. ๐Ÿ’›โญ๏ธ๐Ÿ

As Pirates head back to campus, our newest alumni are heading to careers across the country. ๐Ÿ’œ

Recent College of Business graduate Katelyn Haley was featured in ECU's summer issue of East Magazine, where she shared how her passion for financial markets led her to become a leader in the Blacksail Fundโ€”ECU's student-managed investment fund. Through the fund, Katelyn spent countless hours researching companies, analyzing financial and industry reports, developing investment theses, and helping make real investment decisions with real money. She shared that these hands-on experiences and skills translate directly to the work she'll be doing every day. "The pressure makes it fun. You can't predict the future and can't control it, despite all of the research and knowledge that you put into it."

Katelyn accepted her position with KPMG last October before graduating in May and is now beginning her career as a Business Valuation & Modeling Associate in Virginia.

Congratulations, Katelyn! We can't wait to see all you'll accomplish. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ

In just 21 days, Ella Slate completed a journey few Pirates can say they've experiencedโ€”traveling from North Carolina to Germany, on to Australia, across the Pacific to Los Angeles, and finally back home to Raleigh, circling the globe. ๐ŸŒŽ

What began as an ECU College of Business trip to Germany turned into the adventure of a lifetime when Ella continued on to a study abroad program in Australia โ€” a trip aided by Honors College support. Along the way, she explored global businesses, immersed herself in new cultures, expanded her professional network, and checked off lifelong bucket-list experiences.

In total, Ella spent 52 hours in the air over three weeks before returning home to begin her summer internship with Cherry Bekaert. ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ

โ€œI got to live out my dream of traveling and knocking things off of my bucket list,โ€ Slate said. โ€œI was able to see how a country completely on the opposite side of the world operates. Itโ€™s amazing to observe the simple differences of everyday life." Experiences like these are opening doors for Pirates to see the world from an entirely new perspective. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ

High school students from around the state got some personal attention on the college process here at the COB through College MAP. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ

We received an email from one of the students after the event. We think it perfectly captures the impact of the week ๐Ÿฅน:

"I've been thinking a lot since the EY program ended, and I wanted to take a moment to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything that was done for us. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing experience. I truly learned so much, not only from the program itself but from the people I met and the environment that was created. It was something I'll always remember." ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›

The College MAP Summer Camp program (College Mentoring for Access and Persistence) is a joint initiative of EY (Ernst & Young) and the COB with a goal to support students as they consider and work toward their dreams of higher education. ๐Ÿ“š

Students learn to navigate the college application and financial aid process, tap into resources and see the benefits of higher education.

The stock market doesn't close just because it is summer, so the Blacksail Fund students continued to work. The students met every Wednesday night virtually from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. The students continued to meet even though they were working internships and taking classes. Their dedication is literally paying off! ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ‘

Every nonprofit has a list of important projects that deserve attention, yet often lacks the time or capacity to move them forward.

The Arthur Graduate School of Business at East Carolina University is inviting nonprofit organizations to submit project proposals for partnership with our Immersive MBA (IMBA) students through the Arthur Community Partnership Program. ๐Ÿค

Selected organizations will work with graduate student consulting teams to address meaningful leadership and organizational challenges through research, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and practical, evidence-based recommendations, all under faculty supervision and at no cost to participating organizations. ๐Ÿ“ˆ

If your nonprofit has a strategic initiative, organizational challenge, or opportunity where fresh perspectives and graduate-level expertise could make a difference, we encourage you to submit a proposal.

๐Ÿ“… Proposal deadline: Friday, September 4, 2026

Please see the attached project guide and proposal submission link for additional information. โฌ‡๏ธ We would also appreciate you sharing this opportunity with other nonprofit organizations that may be interested.

Together, we can strengthen the nonprofit organizations that make Eastern North Carolina a better place to live, work, and serve.

Get involved ๐Ÿ”— โžก๏ธ https://ecu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_20t97leWblyYggC

Hey, College of Business! 2026 โžก 2022

My name is Whitley McCoy, and I'm so excited to connect with our incoming Pirates and their families! I graduated from ECU's College of Business this past May with a degree in Marketing and certificates in Entrepreneurship and Professional Selling. This fall, I'll be back on campus as part of the Immersive MBA program!

With classes starting exactly two weeks from today, I know excitement (and maybe a few nerves!) are starting to kick in. Four years ago, I was in your shoes, navigating move-in, class schedules, and everything that comes with starting college. And now, as I begin a new chapter myself, I know what it's like to be stepping into something unfamiliar and full of change.

If you have questions about College of Business life, classes, getting involved, what to bring, finding your way around campus, or just what to expect, I'd love to help!

Drop your questions in the comments or send us a message. Welcome to the Pirate familyโ€”we can't wait to have you here! ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’›

Congratulations to our FBLA students for an incredible showing at the 2026 FBLA Collegiate National Leadership Conference in Las Vegas! ๐Ÿ†

After qualifying at the North Carolina State Leadership Conference, six Pirates represented ECU on the national stage: George Beyrer, Philip Bryant, Ashley Clinefelter, Sam Dewar, Daniel Hackett-Fishback, and Taylor Triggs. They competed alongside top business students from across the country in business competitions, professional development, and networking opportunities.

Special congratulations to:
โœˆ๏ธ Taylor Triggs, who earned the prestigious Southwest Airlines Professional Communications Certificationโ€”an honor awarded to just 34 FBLA Collegiate members nationwide.
๐Ÿฅ‰ Sam Dewar, placed 8th nationally in Foundations of Selling.
๐Ÿฅ‰ George Beyrer, placed 8th nationally in Supply Chain Management.
๐Ÿฅ‰ Daniel Hackett-Fishback, placed 9th nationally in Supply Chain Management.

These accomplishments reflect the incredible growth of ECU FBLA and the dedication of its members. They also highlight the College of Business's commitment to leadership development, experiential learning, and student success, demonstrating the lasting impact student organizations can have on preparing future business leaders.

We can't wait to see what's next for this outstanding chapter! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›
