Join Greenville Recreation & Parks for Pond Study on June 3 from 6pm–7pm as we explore the fascinating macro-invertebrates living in our ponds. Participants will collect samples, discover tiny pond creatures, and analyze what they find along the way!

These weren’t just next level giant airplanes 3rd grade launched. They were releasing positive affirmations as well. These amazing students are going to have bright futures and it has been a pleasure to watch them grow🥰

More marshmallow and heat science!
3 rd grade used food markers to color marshmallows. Some students colored gelatin free marshmallows. We were curious to see if there would be a difference between the 2 when we microwaved them. We discovered it’s not the gelatin that makes them expand but the composition and air content trapped inside the marshmallows. Air bubbles make up more than 50% of a marshmallow’s volume.
Besides the cool food science facts, eating giant marshmallows is a blast!!!!!!

One of my all time favorite activities ever! Kindergarten and first grade researched how to make solar ovens and then tested the specular reflection with a flashlight before taking their ovens outside. They discovered they are master s’mores chefs!!!!!
