"My son's tutor told me that whatever we're doing differently this year, it's working!" -Amber, Portals Parent

We believe that children learn best when they engage deeply with ideas by reading great books, asking thoughtful questions, completing meaningful work and making connections across subjects.

When families tell us they're seeing growth in their children's confidence, understanding, and love of learning, we're reminded that rich, literature-based, project-based learning truly makes a difference.

For two and a half centuries, Americans have celebrated the birth of a nation founded on the conviction that our rights come not from government, but from God. In 1776, a courageous group of men signed a declaration that boldly affirmed that all people are created equal and "endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights." Their decision changed the course of history and established principles that continue to shape our nation today.

As we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, we remember not only the founders who declared independence, but also the generations of Americans who sacrificed to preserve the liberties we enjoy. Through times of prosperity and hardship, peace and conflict, God has faithfully sustained our nation and its people.

For Christian families, this milestone is also an opportunity to reflect on the blessings of religious liberty and educational freedom. We are grateful to live in a country where we can openly worship Christ, study God's Word, and teach our children according to our deeply held convictions.

While our ultimate citizenship is in heaven, we can be thankful for the unique opportunities and responsibilities that come with living in the United States. As we celebrate this historic anniversary, may we remember the sacrifices that secured these freedoms, give thanks to God for His many blessings, and commit ourselves to using our liberty in ways that honor Him.

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." — Psalm 33:12

From all of us at Portals Education, we wish you and your family a joyful and meaningful Independence Day as we celebrate 250 years of American freedom.

❤️🤍💙 Happy Fourth of July!

Every Portals family has a unique homeschool. Different schedules. Different ages. Different traditions. But every year, we share something unique to Portals: a common journey.

This year, Portals families across the country will gather around kitchen tables, get cozy on couches, and embark on a journey through American History. Together, we'll discover the people, places, events, and ideas that have shaped our great nation.

While each family's discussions, projects, and discoveries will look a little different, we'll be learning together as part of a community united by a shared story.

We would LOVE for you to join us this year. Simply send us a message to get started today!
