Great session with Thomas yesterday evening!
Close control and quick feet on the ball ⚽️
Dribbling, left foot, right foot, both feet, inside / outside ⚽️
Two touch passing, one touch passing, focusing on strong and purposeful preparation touch, weight of pass and pass variations ⚽️
Drag back turns and Flick turns, with purpose and correct turn selection for specific situations ⚽️
Shooting with power, technique, varied targets to develop understanding of the importance of adjustment of non-striking foot position, laces vs Inside foot, body position, landing on striking foot, trusting the technique ⚽️
Shooting with targets to earn points for added incentive / memory of correct technique. What did I do right? What did I do wrong? How did it feel? How did it sound? Where did my non striking foot land? Where did my striking foot land? Did I lean too far back / forward? Did I look up too early, thus leaning back too much because I didn’t trust my technique? ⚽️
Every session we step outside of Thomas’s comfort zone and he embraces the challenge! 👏⚽️
We don’t count the bad reps with incorrect technique! I want to hear if Thomas knows why it was a bad rep and what we need to adjust! Then we repeat until he is coaching himself so eventually I can advance the level of the skills ⚽️
