It's difficult to forecast the future without understanding China. As one of the world's largest economies and most influential nations, China continues to shape global trade, technology, manufacturing, innovation, and international relations.

Students at the Whigham School don't simply study global change.

They experience it.

By learning directly from different cultures, economies, and communities around the world, students develop the adaptability and perspective needed to lead responsibly in a complex global society.

MEET THE FACULTY

At The Whigham School, we believe leadership begins with understanding.

That belief is embodied by Dr. Jeremy Patterson, our Vice President of Academic Affairs and Senior Interculturalist.

Jeremy is a globally experienced academic leader, intercultural strategist, and multilingual educator whose work focuses on leadership development, language immersion, cultural intelligence, and global understanding. He serves as one of the principal architects behind The Whigham School's innovative Master of Global Studies program, helping prepare students to navigate an increasingly interconnected world.

Fluent in six languages and shaped by extensive international experience, Jeremy understands something many leadership programs overlook:

Leadership is not simply about expertise.

It is about understanding people.

Throughout his career, Jeremy has helped design transformative international learning experiences, intercultural programs, and global education initiatives that challenge students to think beyond borders, communicate across cultures, and lead with humility, wisdom, and purpose.

For students seeking more than a traditional degree, Jeremy's mentorship provides a rare opportunity to learn from someone who has dedicated his life to helping others develop the cultural intelligence, adaptability, and global perspective needed to make a meaningful impact in the world.

You cannot effectively lead people you don't take the time to seek to understand.

Today's leaders are expected to navigate different cultures, languages, economies, industries, and perspectives—often while making decisions that affect thousands of people.

The organizations making the greatest impact are increasingly looking for leaders who can adapt, communicate across differences, think critically, and build trust in unfamiliar environments.

That is why The Whigham School was created.

Our Master of Global Studies combines academic rigor with language acquisition, cultural immersion, international travel, mentorship, and real-world experience to prepare leaders for an increasingly interconnected world.

If you are looking for an education that extends beyond the classroom and prepares you for meaningful leadership opportunities, we invite you to learn more.

If you're not ready to apply yet, follow our journey as we explore what leadership development looks like in the 21st century.

Today, we pause in remembrance.

Memorial Day reminds us of the importance of courage, service, compassion, and the shared responsibility we carry toward one another.

We will never forget the men and women who gave their lives protecting our country, our freedoms, and the rights we hold dear.

To do substantial good in the world.

Most leadership programs teach theory. Few teach the kind of global appreciation that ignites positive change in industries, organizations, and societies.

Samsung transformed itself into one of the most influential companies in the world after making a radical decision in 1990: immerse its future leaders deeply into foreign cultures and languages for years, not weeks. The result was a level of cultural intelligence and adaptability that their competitors could not replicate.

The Whigham School is built on the same concepts. We believe meaningful global leadership cannot be developed through textbooks alone. It requires immersion, language, human connection, and the courage to understand the world beyond your own perspective.

While Samsung developed specialists to navigate global markets, Whigham is preparing leaders capable of doing substantial good in the world through cultural understanding, emotional intelligence, and interdisciplinary global education across 40 countries and six continents.

This is not tourism.
This is leadership formation for a rapidly changing world.
