Greetings Baldwin Heights Family! On Wednesday, May 25 we will be having Field Day during the students' 40 minute recesses. It's a smaller event than in the past due to the fact we had to start preparing for the event earlier in the year when things were a little uncertain. :) We appreciate your patience with us as we continue to try and return back to normal. :) We are calling it...Field Day Lite. :)

Mr. Huff and the playground paraprofessionals need some help with the events so we are looking for some folks to help with setup, running some events, and tearing down at the end. We appreciate anyone who can be a part of the festivities as we just want the kids to have as much fun as possible and the more supervision and help we get the better. :)

Here are a couple of pictures from the Baldwin Heights Walk-A-Thon this past Saturday. Even though it was a little chilly at times, we had a tremendous turnout for the event. We continue to be in awe of the amazing support we receive from our Baldwin Heights school family. Any students/families who are still collecting pledges, please make sure those are turned in to the school office or submitted online by Friday (May 6). A special thanks to our incredible PTO for all the hard work they put into this amazing event. :)

Baldwin Heights Elementary School consists of grades PreK-5 with a student population of over 500 students. Many devoted and caring staff members make student learning their number one priority which helps us create a caring, safe and fun learning environment for students to be involved in. GPS would like to thank our 2022 Elmer Russell School Bell Award winners for joining us in this year's Danish Festival Dansk Parade on Saturday (8/19). Parade photo includes Robin Walter, Vice President/School Liasion for the Flat River Historial Society & Museum, and Don Bryant, a recently retired maintenance from Greenville Public Schools. A special THANK YOU to Tinney Automotive for providing a vehicle and a driver for our award recipients to participate in the parade. GPS is grateful for all individuals and organizations that continue to support our staff and students.

The 2023 winners will be announced via social media soon, and they will be invited to participate in next year's Danish Festival Parade with us!

The BH Open House was a huge success! It was so wonderful to see all the families who made it out yesterday. As we look forward to the first day of school on Aug 21, we would love to show our school pride and community support by wearing purple and gold or "Jacket Strong" apparel. This is to honor a recent GPS student who was lost and two others who are healing. We live in an amazing community and we always rally around one another when it matters most!

Greenville Public Schools will be hosting a District-Wide Medication Drop Off on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at the Greenville High School - Lobby (111 N. Hillcrest Street) from 11:00am-2:00pm and 3:00-5:30pm. This medication drop-off is for any prescribed daily or as-needed medication to be utilized at any GPS school. All medicines dropped off must have a Permission & Request for Administration of Medication form, SIGNED by the parent AND physician, so that the medication can be administered to the student during school hours. https://www.gpsjackets.org/page/school-nurse-services

At Baldwin Heights we are lucky enough to have some incredible support from our school family. Brooklynne Grover is a former Baldwin Heights student who has her own photography business and is doing a summer mini-session fundraiser for Baldwin Heights. The proceeds from this event goes to our school!

The time frame is from July 23-August 13; sessions are 25 minutes long and will be at Wabasis Park. There is a $25 deposit, but you can pay the rest in cash or school supplies!
