Vision Night 2026 💙

Vision Night was an incredible evening to reconnect, welcome our families, and share the heart behind where we are headed together this year.

Our guiding principle focus is LOVING.
Sharing God’s love to others through joyful, second-mile service.

We also introduced our 4th Gen Partnership rooted in 2 Timothy 2:2.
One generation faithfully investing in the next.

We are grateful for our BJA families and excited for all God will do in the year ahead.

Welcome back, BJA family. Eternity matters more. 💙

Your BJA story starts here 💙Before the first bell rings, we want every new student to know one thing. You already belong.

This week, one of our newest BJA Lions received her Welcome Box, a small reminder that an entire school community is excited to welcome her, praying for her, and looking forward to the story God will write in her life this year.

Inside the box is an invitation into a Christ-centered community where friendships are formed, faith is strengthened, and learning is pursued with purpose.

We can’t wait to welcome you to campus, cheer you on, and watch you grow.

Welcome to the BJA family 💙

We’re excited to introduce the newest member of our high school team, Seth Abels, who will be serving as our High School Graduate Assistant!

A graduate of Bob Jones University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Seth has spent several summers serving at Christian camps, where he developed a passion for investing in the lives of young people and pointing them to Christ. He is excited to combine that heart for ministry with his love of athletics as he serves our high school students this year.

“I’m really looking forward to working at the Academy and can’t wait to meet and get to know everyone!”

Seth is the second son of Doug and Karen Abels and enjoys spending time around sports, cheering on his favorite Star Wars characters, and making memories through travel. This summer alone, he visited six different countries! One fun fact, Seth has never been to a barbershop for a haircut. His dad and friends have been cutting his hair since he was a baby.

We’re grateful to welcome Seth to the BJA community and look forward to the positive impact he’ll have as he encourages students both in the classroom and through athletics.

Please join us in welcoming Erica Hartzler to the Bob Jones Academy family as our Middle School Administrative Assistant.

A BJA graduate, Erica earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biblical Counseling from Bob Jones University. For the past six years, she has built meaningful relationships with our middle school students while serving in BJA’s Late Stay program. We’re excited to see that investment continue as she steps into this new role.

“I’m looking forward to serving our middle school students and building meaningful relationships with them throughout the year. Whether it’s during study hall, in the library, or at Late Stay, I’m excited to get to know and support them daily!”

Outside of school, Erica is the second of four siblings and enjoys reading, weightlifting, kayaking, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.

We’re thankful to welcome Erica to the middle school team and look forward to the ways God will use her to encourage students, build meaningful relationships, and help point them toward Christ throughout the year.

Please join us in welcoming Abby Arrowood to the BJA family as our new High School Girls Student Mentor!

A May 2026 graduate of Bob Jones University, Abby earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology. As she prepares to pursue graduate studies in occupational therapy, she’s spending this gap year investing in the lives of our high school girls.

During college, Abby completed an internship at The Meyer Center for Special Children, where she discovered a passion for serving the kids and working with the Occupational Therapists. She also spent two summers as a camp counselor, building meaningful relationships with students ages 5–18, pointing them to Christ, and creating an environment where they could grow in both confidence and faith.

Outside of school, Abby enjoys spending time with her family at the lake, exploring the outdoors, and making memories on family vacations like Disney World! A lifelong soccer player, she competed for four years with the BJU Bruins, helping the team capture three national championships!

We’re thankful God has brought Abby to BJA and can’t wait to see the impact she will have as she encourages, disciples, and invests in the lives of our high school girls. Welcome to the BJA family, Abby!

Please join us in welcoming Jimmy Chisholm to his new role as Middle School Graduate Assistant at Bob Jones Academy!
Jimmy is already a familiar face around campus, having served in the BJA Middle School Late Stay program for the past four years and as a BASEcamp counselor for the past three summers. This year, we’re excited to see him continue investing in the lives of our middle school students in a new capacity.
A recent graduate of Bob Jones University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Jimmy will also begin pursuing his Master’s in Educational Leadershipwhile serving at BJA. He is especially looking forward to building meaningful relationships with students and encouraging them throughout the school year.
Outside of school, Jimmy is the second youngest of five siblings. His brother, Isaac, also serves at BJA as the Middle School Robotics coach. When he’s not at school, you’ll likely find him collecting LEGO sets, staying active at the gym, spending time with his special-needs dog, Corduroy, or enjoying time with his family.
We’re thankful God has called Jimmy to continue serving at BJA and look forward to the lasting impact he’ll have as he invests in the lives of our middle school students.

Discipleship doesn’t pause for the summer; it continues wherever God provides opportunities to grow.

This summer, five of our high school handbell musicians traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio, to participate in Distinctly Teen, sponsored by the Handbell Musicians of America. Alongside 36 intermediate and advanced musicians from across the nation, they spent three days refining their musical abilities, learning from experienced clinicians, and performing in a culminating concert.

We’re grateful for opportunities like these that challenge students to develop the gifts God has given them, build friendships, and pursue excellence both on and off campus.

Way to represent BJA, Piper, Evelyn, Duncan, Bella, and Emily!
