Happy National Intern Day! 🏆

We're proud of all of our students who are completing summer internships. We can't wait to see you back on campus soon! Here are our final four intern spotlights:

Cole is a construction intern at Sherbco Construction. In the photo, he and his uncle, the company’s owner, are at Old Dominion University, installing gate frames for a temporary elevator.

Diya is participating in the Duke PRIME-Cancer Research Program at the Duke Cancer Institute in Durham, North Carolina.

Madison is the R&D Project and Program Management Intern at SAS in Cary, North Carolina.

Ananya has completed an internship at Aces for Autism Clinic in Greenville, North Carolina, which she received through the SECU Public Fellows Internship program. Aces for Autism specializes in hands-off ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy, an approach that emphasizes naturalistic, child-led interaction rather than more traditional, structured ABA methods. During her internship, she worked directly with young children on the autism spectrum, providing individualized ABA therapy sessions tailored to each child's developmental needs and goals. Through this internship, she also earned her Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification, which has allowed her to continue working with the clinic in a more formal capacity.

Ava has been an Extern this summer at ECU Health Edgecombe in the Medical/MIU. She has spent shifts in the Emergency Department as well as Labor and Delivery as well. She has learned so much about enhancing patient care and how important it is to build relationships with your patients over 12 hours.
