🎃 Halloween Recital Participants – Please Read! 🎹

For students who are participating in our Halloween Recital, please practice your 2–4 assigned pieces every day, at least 7 times per piece.

🎵 Important Practice Steps

1️⃣ Check your hand position before you start.
Is it C Position or a different position?

2️⃣ Check the rhythm pattern.
🎶 🎵 Short – Short – Long or etc.

3️⃣ Always use the correct finger numbers.

4️⃣ Read the notes and practice while looking at the music.

Consistent daily practice will help you feel confident and prepared for the recital! 🎃👻

🎹 One of the most fascinating aspects of Franz Liszt’s études is how they evolved over many years. Rather than simply composing new sets, Liszt repeatedly returned to earlier works, revising and transforming them as his pianistic style matured.

1. The Transcendental Étude Lineage

S.136 – Étude en douze exercices (1826)
Early studies written by the young Liszt

S.137 – Douze Grandes Études (1837)
Expanded into extraordinarily demanding virtuoso works

S.138 – Mazeppa (c. 1840)
An intermediate revision of the fourth étude

Liszt’s large collection of technical studies represents a different branch of his étude writing. 🎹 Amazing Progress Caroline! 🌟

Caroline is 5 years old and has been learning piano for almost a year now! She is currently working in Faber’s My First Piano Adventure Book B and learning how to recognize and read note names on the staff. 🎶

Caroline absolutely loves playing the piano, and one of her favorite things to do is create her own music! 🎵 She has a wonderful sense of rhythm and enjoys exploring different sounds and musical ideas on her own.

It’s so exciting to watch her musical skills, creativity, and confidence continue to grow! 💕🎹

🎃 Rhett’s Second Halloween Piece! 🎹👻

Today was Rhett’s very first time learning this new Halloween piece! We started by learning each hand separately so he could become comfortable with the notes and rhythm. 🎶

For today’s performance, I played the right-hand part while Rhett played the bass line—and he did an amazing job! 🎹✨

Doesn’t it sound so cool already? 😍🎃

Great job, Rhett! I can’t wait to hear how this piece develops over the next few weeks! 👏🌟
