It’s Transportation Week at Sprattronics, and we’re rolling full speed ahead with buses!

From real-world buses to our LEGO creations, students are exploring how transportation systems work and how we can program them. We built a LEGO SPIKE Prime bus with a working door and a SPIKE Essential bus that uses a color sensor to know when to stop. It is like a real bus hitting its route markers.

How do buses know when to stop? How do doors open and close safely? This week, we’re turning those everyday questions into hands-on engineering challenges.

At Sprattronics, we’re kicking off Transportation Week by imagining a galaxy of ways to move. Bikes and buses to starships and speeder bikes. Today we’re asking: if you could travel anywhere, how would you get there?

Our students are exploring how things move, what powers them, and how engineers design transportation here on Earth… and maybe even beyond it.

This week is Transportation Week at Sprattronics. How do we get around? What vehicle would you use from Star Wars to get you to school?

Have you ever investigated the lifecycle of a dragonfly? These mosquito exterminators have some of the wildest-looking stages of a life cycle. When I went out to catch tadpoles for this week, we uncovered a larva (nymph) in the mud. We let it go because it looked so fierce.
