A big thank you to Stephanie Arnold from The Homeless Period Project for speaking at our October meeting. We were able to make 50 period packs to donate to this organization.
We want to make free menstruation products available to all of our students. Please consider donating pads and liners to stock our Period Pantry so that no student has to go without the supplies they need. The Period Pantry will be located in Mrs. Fansher’s office in the library and supplies will also be available upon request through our food pantry program.
The next Junior Civitan meeting will be on Tuesday, October 5 at 8:00 am in the library. Stop by the library to get a pass for your agenda if you don't already have one. Please be on time for the meeting so that you don't miss out on our great guest speakers from The Homeless Period Project and WHHS Backpack Buddies Food Pantry Program.
The Junior Civitan Club at Wade Hampton High School is a service club that is open to all students. There is not a grade point requirement for this club. This is a fun opportunity to learn about serving our community while making friends. Students will have the chance to participate in leadership roles if they are interested.
Club members are obligated to:
Attend all meetings (the first Tuesday of each month in the library from 8:00 to 8:30)
Pay $20 dues by October 15 (scholarships are available!)
Purchase a $12 t-shirt to wear to service events (scholarships are available!)
Participate in at least 10 hours of service (at least 7 hours as part of club sponsored activities and up to 3 hours of personal choice projects)
Turn in the hours sheet to Mrs. Fansher in the library by 4:00 on Tuesday, April 5
To join, students should come by the library to get a pass from Mrs. Fansher for the next meeting on Tuesday, October 5 at 8:00. Email Mrs. Fansher at [email protected] for more information.
