♟️📚 Greenview Bulldogs – Tied for 10th in Illinois 📚♟️

The Greenview 6th Grade Chess Team earned a tie for 10th place at the IESA State Chess Tournament, finishing among the top teams in Illinois.

Over eight challenging rounds of competition, our students demonstrated strategic thinking, perseverance, and outstanding sportsmanship. Competing against more than 50 schools from across the state, they represented Greenview with focus, discipline, and pride.

This achievement reflects the hard work of our students, the support of their families, and Greenview’s strong commitment to academic excellence.

We are extremely proud of this team and the way they competed on the state stage.

We thank Illini Central for being a good partner this year with our chess cooperative.

It’s a great day to be a Bulldog. 🐾

Congratulations to George Castles who joins elite company going 6-2 today at the IESA State Chess Tournament in the 6th grade division. This is a major achievement for this young man! George Owen Deters as the only 2 Bulldogs to accomplish this feat! We are very proud of George!

Yesterday on day one we had an awesome day! Many of our players had outstanding showings and are in the hunt today to place at State. Our fifth and sixth grade team is having an exceptional tournament and is possibly going to finish in the top 10. We wish our chess team good luck today! ♟️

We had a GREAT Day #1 at the IESA State tournament! The 6th graders as a team have a great chance to finish in the Top 10 and we have some amazing individual results so far! Keep up the great work!
