We kicked off our last day of school before Fall Break with a special visit from AHEC! They came into our senior phlebotomy and Nursing Assistant classes and students got to learn how to match blood for transfusions, administer TB skin tests and perform blood draws! It was fun for all and we are so thankful to have AHEC as a community partner!

One of our favorite activities in Principles of Health Science! 💚 This is 2 classes of PHS students, and they all had the opportunity to take a turn being “blind” one day and being the patient the next.
They did a great job practicing their communication skills while leading a “blind” partner through an activity. What makes this activity so meaningful is that they not only practice communicating effectively, but they also get to experience what it’s like to be the patient and rely on someone else for guidance.

Attention Students in Health Science Classes (Hunt, Stiltner, College anatomy)!!
Our 1st HOSA meeting of the school year will be this Wed. the 9th right after school. Lots to talk about! We will try to keep it as brief as possible.
Remember: More meetings = more HOSA points!
Your points matter because they help determine who gets to participate in Teddy Bear Clinic and who is eligible for officer roles at the end of the school year.
