Here’s a really cool idea from Mrs. Cox (the art teacher) to make sure our students stay clean while still having as much fun as possible in art class!

Last Friday was National Custodian’s Day. We were out of school and couldn’t properly celebrate. Well, we’re back and ready to celebrate this week! Our students and staff are truly blessed with the best at GES! Thank you to Mrs. Debbie and Mr. Austin for always going above and beyond to make our school the cleanest around!!! Happy (belated) Custodian’s Day!

October Community Spotlight!

This month's feature is Wireman’s Greenhouse located on 23 in Lloyd! They are an incredible supporter in our school and community!

We had the opportunity to interview Jeff and Missi Wireman, owners, and learn more about the story behind the greenhouse, their passion, and why supporting our local schools is so important!

Jeff and Missi started with one little greenhouse in their backyard in 1989. They soon followed that one with a slightly larger one at the current US 23 location. They both grew up in an agricultural family, and the greenhouse business just seemed to be a good fit.

They have continued to grow and expand a little more each year until they finally reached their current size, 7 larger greenhouses and a farmer’s market.
They have both also worked in education for 20+ years. It just seems natural to continue to be involved in youth programs. They support the youth annually through 4-H and FFA activities. They love their little community and believe that, as community members, it is their duty to give back.

“We love GES, it is always inviting when we attend an event. We have two grandchildren who currently attend, and they love school. The loving, welcoming atmosphere is key to children’s educational success, and we appreciate the staff for their dedication.”

Thank you, Wireman's Greenhouse, for your support of our school and community!

HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE

The holidays will be here before we know it, and our GC Schools FRYSC offices are once again accepting applications for holiday assistance for families in need.

Applications will be accepted October 1–30. Families who qualify will have the opportunity for their children to shop at Walmart with local first responders and community partners as part of Operation Holiday Heroes.

To apply, simply contact your child’s school FRYSC office between October 1 and October 30.

We’re thankful for our FRYSC teams, first responders and community partners who work together each year to help make the holidays a little brighter for our GC families in need!
