🔔 HIGH SCHOOL PERFORMERS: AUDITIONS ARE OPEN! 🔔
The Academy at Westmoreland Cultural Trust invites students in Grades 9 through 12 from throughout the region to audition for the 2026 All-Star High School Musical production of Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame!
Featuring a sweeping score by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, The Hunchback of Notre Dame combines powerful choral music, dynamic movement and compelling storytelling. This large-scale production will bring together student actors, singers and dancers to perform on the historic Palace Theatre stage.

🎶 WHAT TO PREPARE
Students should prepare:
• Approximately 32 bars, or 1 to 1.5 minutes, of a musical theatre song in the style of the production or from The Hunchback of Notre Dame
• A selection that demonstrates vocal ability, storytelling and connection to the material
• Clearly marked sheet music in a three-ring binder
• Appropriate clothing and footwear for the movement and dance call
Students interested in principal roles are encouraged to become familiar with the show’s major musical selections before auditions.
⭐ CASTING OPPORTUNITIES
The Academy is seeking a large and dynamic company of actors, singers, dancers and storytellers. Students may be considered for:
• Quasimodo
• Esmeralda
• Claude Frollo
• Captain Phoebus de Martin
• Clopin Trouillefou
• Featured roles
• Dance Ensemble
• Featured Ensemble
• Onstage Choir and Vocal Ensemble
• Understudy assignments
• Company Swing positions
The onstage Choir will be an essential part of the production’s sound, atmosphere and storytelling. Singers with an interest in powerful ensemble and choral music are strongly encouraged to audition.
INCLUSIVE CASTING PRACTICES:
The Academy at Westmoreland Cultural Trust is committed to creating a diverse, inclusive and representative company. Students of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, body types, abilities and backgrounds are encouraged to audition.
Casting decisions will consider vocal ability, acting, movement, storytelling, preparation and the overall needs of the production. Performers of color are strongly encouraged to audition for Esmeralda.
The creative and educational process will also address the historical language contained within the licensed script thoughtfully while approaching Romani characters, identity and culture with care and respect.
📅 REHEARSAL DATES
Rehearsals will be held Sunday through Thursday evenings from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Mandatory technical rehearsals will take place October 3 through 8 from 5:00 to 9:30 p.m.

The Friday morning student matinee is a required performance. Participating students will receive an official letter that may be submitted to their schools to request an excused educational absence.
