First up! Cooking collaboration with the Children's Cooking Connection!

This will be a life skills collaboration focusing on following a recipe, reviewing basic nutrition when planning a meal, making pizza, setting tables and socializing at dinner events.

We have 2 time slots, those that can attend during the day and those that need an evening spot.

We also are working on a date for Elementary age group! Stay tuned!

What a busy and wonderful week last week in The Children’s Cooking Connection classroom! ❤️

We kicked off the week with one of my favorite things to teach — Cream Puffs! 👩‍🍳

The kids learned how to make the pastry from scratch, watched it puff up beautifully in the oven, and then filled their cream puffs with a delicious pastry cream filling.

There is something so rewarding about watching kids realize, “I actually made this!” And these chefs definitely had something to be proud of!

🍫🍝 Two Delicious Hands-On Classes Are Coming to the Children's Cooking Connection on Thursday, August 13th! Ages 8 and up!

Your young chef can join us for one class or make it a full day of cooking fun!

🍫 Everybody Loves Chocolate!
📅 Morning Class | 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
💲$52 per child

Kids will make a rich chocolate cake from scratch and whip up a smooth chocolate ganache frosting to decorate their very own cake to take home!

🍝 Homemade Pasta
📅 Afternoon Class | 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm
💲$52 per child

Kids will mix, knead, roll, and cut fresh pasta from scratch, then enjoy eating the delicious pasta they made in class!

These hands-on classes are a fun way to build kitchen confidence while learning skills they'll use for years to come.

Tuesday at our Baking and Pastry Camp, our young bakers tackled a brand-new recipe for the very first time — Brookies!

The campers learned how to make homemade brownies from scratch and homemade chocolate chip cookie dough from scratch, then combined the two to create one delicious dessert: the brookie!

Trying a new recipe can be challenging, but these young bakers rose to the occasion and did an amazing job. I am so proud of how they followed directions, worked through each step, and created beautiful (and delicious!) brookies.

There is nothing better than watching kids build confidence in the kitchen while learning real baking skills they can use for years to come. Great job, bakers!

Some traditions are worth celebrating. ❤️

Yesterday I had the pleasure of welcoming back a grandmother and grandson who have spent part of their summer in the kitchen with me for the past three years.

Our first summer together we made macarons. The second year we tackled homemade gnocchi and sauce. This year we made pizza dough three ways — traditional pizza with toppings, calzones, and an apple pie dessert pizza.

One of my favorite parts of teaching isn't just the recipes we make, it's watching families create memories together in the kitchen year after year. I'm so grateful they continue to make Children's Cooking Connection part of their summer tradition, and I can't wait to see what we'll make next year!

It is always a fun afternoon working with them!
