Now that all the classes have been through to check out books, the numbers are in!

In the first full week of book circulation, GES students checked out 1,395 books (115 of which have already been turned in)!
5 holds were placed, and 4 books that were marked as lost even made it back home! 📚

Something new this year in the library is our "Question of the Week" board! This fun station is designed to be friendly for all K-5 students. Each week, new questions will be posted for students to think about and answer. While this idea is entertaining, it also incorporates some thinking skills that connect to Indiana’s Employability Skills, such as critical thinking, communication, and creativity. These skills help prepare students not only for school success, but for life beyond the classroom! As the year goes on, questions will be more advanced and require more skills to consider and answer.

This week, students from K-2 have been learning all about how to take care of library books! Each student has had to opportunity to pull an item out of "The Mystery Box of Book Care" and guide us in deciding if the item was good or not good to have with our library books! Afterwards, all students were able to begin checking out books this year, and they were SO excited!📚
