· Implementing lesson plans that utilize the PA Early Learning Standards.

· Learning and following PA Keystone Stars Policies as well as the DHS child care requirements.

· Assist in assessing students using provided observation and assessment tools.

· Interacting with children on their level by exploring, educating, and providing supportive play.

· Meeting the developmental needs of students in care.

· Help to maintain an inviting, safe classroom environment.

· Participate in monthly staff meetings held after business hours

· Complete required continuing education courses

· All other duties assigned.

Assistant teachers must assist the classroom teacher with all the day to day duties. Assistants will reinforce daily routines and structure within each classroom while ensuring that each child is valued and respected. Days filled with laughing, singing, dancing, playing, reading, smiling and having fun are essential. As educators we must make the most of each teachable moment and help every student reach their full potential. It is necessary to promote independence by assisting with toilet training, personal hygiene, manners, and eagerness to learn. PA State Police Clearance, FBI Clearance and Child Abuse Clearances are required along with a physical and TB shot within the past year. EOE
