Hey Greensburg folks!

As part of Welcome Weekend activities at Seton Hill University, we traditionally host a campus fireworks display on the Sunday evening before classes begin.

This year’s Welcome Weekend fireworks display will take place tonight, Sunday, August 23, at 9 p.m. and is expected to last around 15 minutes.

While campus is not open to the public for the fireworks, the display may be visible from around Greensburg!

Dr. Kathleen Harris, Dean of Seton Hill’s School of Education and Applied Social Sciences, has always felt a close connection to Fred Rogers.

That connection has followed her from watching Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood with her daughter to her career as an educator and her work preparing future educators at Seton Hill.

Most recently, Dr. Harris was selected as an Inquiry Educator with the Fred Rogers Institute, where she explored how Rogers’ lessons on empathy, curiosity and care can continue to shape education today!

There’s a lot to celebrate in the Seton Hill Music community!! 🎶

👏 David Emanuelson ’14 was named the 2026 Outstanding Young Conductor by the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. Emanuelson is a choral music educator at Hempfield Area High School and serves as collaborative keyboardist for Una Voce, the Chamber Choir of Seton Hill.

🎹 Bridget Devenney ’20 was elected to the National Council of the American Guild of Organists, where she will serve as Councillor for Young Organists.

📚 Dr. Mark A. Boyle, Associate Professor of Music at Seton Hill, is collaborating with the University of Pittsburgh on an NEH-funded project to create a critical edition of more than 200 works by Charles H. Pace!
