🇺🇸 This week, students in Mr. Kellerman’s Social Studies class stepped back in time to explore the Boston Massacre through a hands-on reenactment!

Students analyzed the historical facts surrounding the event and compared them with Paul Revere’s famous engraving, The Bloody Massacre. Through primary sources and their reenactment, students explored how the event was portrayed as propaganda and how it contributed to growing colonial resistance to British rule.

By reenacting the event, students weren’t just reading about history—they were experiencing it! This activity helped them better understand the perspectives, events, and tensions that played a role in the development of the American Revolution. 🇺🇸

🏛️✨ Ancient Greek Culture: Religion & Mythology! ✨🏛️

Mrs. Burkhart’s students have been learning about Ancient Greek religion and mythology. As part of their learning, students created mythology trading cards featuring gods, goddesses, heroes, and creatures. 🏺⚡️

The students put so much creativity and effort into their cards, and their amazing artwork really brought Greek mythology to life! 👏✨

Mrs. Walke’s class recently had some fun while practicing their math exponents! Students competed in a Jeopardy-style game to review their skills, test their knowledge, and learn from one another. ➗✨

☕️🍪 Champions United is back in the kitchen! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Yesterday, Champions United kicked off another great year of cooking for our Coffee Cart! This year, our students are putting their skills to work by preparing delicious treats for the staff at Greensburg Junior High School. 💙🤍

This program is about so much more than cooking—it provides our students with meaningful opportunities to practice important life skills, including following directions, working together, communication, responsibility, and taking pride in their work.

We are so proud of our Champions United students and all they are learning along the way! We can’t wait to see (and taste!) what they create this year! 🏴‍☠️💙

Our dedication and early engagement with Find Your Grind helped make Greensburg one of their top-performing partners this August. Even though the school year is just getting started, Mrs. Clifford is already creating meaningful opportunities for our students to explore who they are, what they enjoy, and how their strengths can help shape their futures.

🔬🍪 ⛏️ Mrs. Sparks’ science students got hands-on with natural resources today! Students explored how natural resources are collected and used by using tools to “mine” resources from a cookie. They then determined the value and cost of the resources they collected.

Who knew a cookie could teach us so much about mining and natural resources? Great job, scientists! 🌎💡

✨ Forging Their Future! ⚓️

Our 7th grade College & Careers students (Trimester 1) had the opportunity to visit the East Central Education Service Center for the Forge Your Future experience!

Students explored how their unique strengths, interests, and skills can help shape their future success. Through hands-on activities and guidance from career coaches, they learned about the six RIASEC career themes, developed workforce readiness skills, and began exploring career paths that may be a great fit for their futures.

We love seeing our Pirates thinking about their future, discovering their strengths, and taking steps toward success! 🏴‍☠️✨
