Hello my friends! Here is the schedule of activities and events from the Youth & Family Ministries of Harrold Zion Lutheran Church, as well as a brief description. We hope to see you there!
Messy Church Committee Meeting: Messy Church is a beautiful, whole body way of experiencing the Christian faith for people of all ages. However, it takes a lot of prep work—and prayer, of course. If you feel called to help with Messy Church, please attend the Messy Church committee meeting on September 3rd at 7:00pm. Anyone is welcome to come, help, and be part of God’s work in our community! Light refreshments will be provided.
Campfire Night: On September 10th at 7:00pm, we will have a Campfire Night! There will be s’mores, hotdogs, cold drinks, lawn games, music playing, and fun to be had. Everyone of all ages is welcome to come—and bring a friend!
Rally Day: Rally Day and God’s work. Our hands. this year will be on September 13th. The theme will be New Beginnings, centered around Isaiah 43:19, and as for the faith formation activities—well, you’ll just have to come and see for yourself! I can’t wait to see you there!
Littles Play Time & Faith Formation: If you have a preschooler or a kindergartener (or even a little one just entering the first grade), join us on September 14th at 6:00pm for our Littles Play Time & Faith Formation! This gives our little ones a chance to meet, play, and grow in faith together while their trusted adults can have fellowship amongst themselves. Snacks and light refreshments will be provided!
Prayer at the Park: On Saturday, September 19th at 10:30am, we will go to Mammoth Park for our Prayer at the Park. We will walk the mile trail. Halfway through we will stop and pray through a short prayer service before finishing our walk together. Bring walking shoes, water, and a snack to eat on the trail!
High School Faith Formation: Starting on September 20th, and then from every Sunday morning following, we will have a High School Faith Formation class starting at 9:15am. This will be a relaxed and lowkey time for food, fellowship, and a group discussion on how Sunday's Gospel lesson can be relevant for our lives today. Any high schooler from 9th to 12th grade is welcome to come and join us!
7-9 Youth Group: Starting September 22nd, we will have a bi-weekly Youth Group for grades 7-9. It will meet on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6:30pm. We will have time for eating, games, faith formation, and downtime to hang out with your friends. And speaking of friends, feel free to bring your friends to the Youth Group! All are welcome!
Bob Ross Paint Night: Join us on September 23rd at 6:00pm for our Bob Ross Paint Night! We will supply the canvases, paints, easels, and brushes. You will provide the laughter—and bring a friend! Snacks will be provided. Everyone of all ages is welcome to come!
Outdoor Movie Night: On September 30th at 6:00pm we will round off the month with an Outdoor Movie Night! We will be watching—drumrolls, please—the Dreamworks classic animated film The Prince of Egypt. Popcorn will be provided, as will cold drinks. Make sure to bring a blanket to sit on and some bug spray!
