Ms. Vickie’s 5th grade language arts classes enjoyed reviewing nouns, verbs, and adjectives by doing a sorting game. They each received cards and had to distinguish which chart their word should be placed.

Music classes this week are hoppin’ and boppin’ as students move from center to center exploring music with all their senses! Students use shape pieces and Play-doh to craft musical notes and instruments, they review rhythm playing a game called Kaboom, and use Chrome Music Lab to see sound waves change with pitches and experiment with different instrument sounds.

🌎 Learning History Through Play! 🎲
Fifth grade Social Studies students in Ms. Ann-Michael’s class stepped into the shoes of the first people who entered the Americas! Students played a game designed to help them experience some of the challenges and circumstances these early travelers may have faced as they crossed the land bridge from Eurasia into the Americas. What a fun way to bring history to life! 🗺️🐾

What a great first week of school! GCIS also had the highest attendance across schools, ending the week at 98.59%!

During our Back to School night, the Healthy Kids Clinic gave away a gift card to one lucky person! Ms. Ana Ruiz, a 5th grader won!
