Good Afternoon, Falcon Families!
As we begin the fourth week of school our scholars are actively participating in classes, learning new standards and traveling through the building with purpose. They are building connections, relationships and belonging with Southeast Middle School.
Our students have a dedicated time daily to work with teachers for interventions, extensions, build reading skills, and social emotional lessons. During SOAR students will be asked to work on interventions for Math and English Language, participate in D.E.A.R (Drop everything and read), and work on missing assignments. Drop everything and read is a research based strategy that helps students build strong literacy skills, expand their vocabulary, improve comprehension, and develop a lifelong love of reading. Students will participate as a method to improve reading skills which will translate into more successful students academically. DEAR asks students to read and explore materials that interest them to increase engagement and critical thinking. Families can support their students by encouraging daily reading, asking what they are reading and helping students find reading materials they enjoy. Our school library is available for students to pick out books but school appropriate high interest magazines or books can be brought from home.
We seek to improve our scholars academically and help them become productive members of our community daily.

Early check outs require a photo ID and end at 3pm daily to ensure our staff can supervise dismissal effectively.
Dress code – Help ensure your student does not leave the house with their midriff showing (front or back), visible undergarments and without inappropriate depictions or language on their clothing.
