Summer opportunity for students!

Are you a high school student (rising sophomore, junior or senior) in the Triad (Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem or surrounding communities)?

Apply now (www.nccjtriad.org/programs/starr) and join us next week (June 9 - 11) for our upcoming STARR: Students Talking About Race + Racism program.

Day 1 (Thursday) and Day 3 (Saturday), we'll meet at Union Square in Greensboro. (Day 2 - Friday - is all virtual on Zoom!) We'll talk about the history of race and racism in the U.S. and in Greensboro and High Point specifically, and give you space and time to ask plenty of questions (no judgment!) and share stories about your experiences with race and racism. On Saturday, we'll take a field trip to the International Civil Rights Center & Museum at the old Woolworth's building in downtown Greensboro. We'll get a private, guided tour and learn more about the critical role that our community played in the civil rights movements of the 1950s and 60s.

So apply now and come hang out with us next week. We promise it will be interesting AND fun.

(Concerned about the $100 tuition? Don't be. We have plenty of tuition assistance dollars, thanks to generous donors. If you need a partial or full scholarship, just ask us.)
