Good evening, giraffe nation! This is Assistant Principal Mrs. Killian with reminders for the upcoming week:
Thank you for a great first week of the 2026-2027 school year. It has been wonderful to have our students back in the building!
Beginning tomorrow, all students should be dropped off via bus or car rider. Students should no longer be walked into the building. Car riders, please help us move the line along by having your student use the passenger side of the car. If you need additional time to buckle or unbuckle your student, please pull past spot 0 so that we can keep the line moving.
For our bus riders, bus stop times are still being adjusted. Please be at the bus stop early; students in 3rd grade or younger must have an adult at the stop. Thank you for your patience and assistance with this as we continue to work with transportation.
Picture day will be this Thursday, September 3. Be on the lookout for information from your child’s teacher.
Fourth and fifth grade students, if you are interested in participating in Battle of the Books, permission forms are due to Ms. Grady by the end of the day Monday, 8/31.
Fifth graders applying for the morning news show, applications are due to Ms. Grady Monday, 8/31.
First through 5th grade students, all GCS summer reading challenge minutes must be entered into Beanstack by Thursday, 9/3.
If you are checking your student out early during the school day, please remember to bring your drivers license with you to check your student out. Early checkouts end at 1:45pm so that staff can prepare for dismissal.
Thank you again for a great start to the 2026-2027 school year. Have a great night.
