UNCG brings gardening, local foods to early childhood | Research And Engagement UNCG program collaborates with teachers, parents, and students to create gardens at Guilford County child care centers, and connects them with local farmers, to promote healthy living from early childhood onwards.

Interested in participating in online child development research studies? Our unfamiliar foods study for 6- to 24-month-old children and their parents is now available on the Lookit/Children Helping Science platform! Learn more and sign up for our study and studies on a variety of topics:
Babies' reactions to unfamiliar foods - Children Helping Science Babies and toddlers who are eating solid foods, and are at least 6 months old and no older than 23 months old. Parents must be able to communicate in English with the research team.

Class notes: This week we are talking about peer influences, including a classic study by Leann Birch on children's food preferences. She found that preschool children's food preferences changed after 4 days of sitting with classmates with different food preferences.
