The African School began in February 2011. Workshops and events are held several times a year at different venues in the Greensboro/Triad area.

The African School works to create workshops and events that allow children, youth, and adults to experience African and African Diaspora culture and history in a fun and engaging way. Our method is to use the community to teach the community. During our first year we brought in artists, musicians, poets, community activists, and people from the Caribbean and Ghana to share their talents and culture with workshop participants.
