It's National Student Employee Appreciation Week! As you know, we're staffed entirely by student consultants--undergraduates and graduate students--and if you've visited the Center (face to face or online!), you know that we have some of the truly MOST SPECTACULAR PEOPLE ever who work here! A million thank yous to our remarkable consultants, this week, and always!
In celebration, we're sharing here a video thanks from Dr. Andrew Hamilton. Enjoy!

Hello everyone! The writing center is going entirely online for now, so the steps below are what you'll need to know about setting up an appointment for the writing center! We hope this helps, and look forward to seeing you you soon! :)
To have a conversation with a consultant:
1. Send us an email to [email protected] and let us know your preferred date and time.
2. You'll get a confirmation email from us, and that will let you know your appointment is scheduled! In that email, we'll give detailed instructions for how to show up for your appointment.
3. You'll send us a copy of your paper document, accept the invitation from the writing center to the Hangouts Meeting for your appointment, and then have a conversation (either over the phone or using your computer's microphone) with the consultant!

Our first official writer of the week is Elizabeth! She's a junior English Major with a double minor in History and Political Science (wow!). Some of her favorite things to do are hanging out with friends, consuming an unhealthy amount of coffee, and reading whenever they get the chance. When talking about her favorite part about working in the writing center, she say she have a few! Elizabeth loves her co-workers, and says that "they have provided me with on-campus family that I am eternally grateful for. This may sound cliché, but I'm very thankful that I get to work with writers across multiple academic disciplines. Prior to working at the Center, I dreaded any interaction that involved talking to a stranger. Now, I look forward to it. Each writer teaches me something new, and it's just a great experience."
Finally, I asked them to draw any animal they want from memory, and here are the results!
