Refugee parents aren’t asking for an easy life. They are working hard, raising their children, and trying to create a future in a new country.

Sometimes, supporting a family means recognizing how much they are already doing—and finding ways to make the journey just a little less difficult.

Hopefully, mom can come along next time!

The Refugee School Impact team is happy to report that the start of the 2026-2027 school year was one of the best yet! All of our planning and hard work paid off. The results are that many of the 70+ students who moved into or moved within Guilford County over the summer had a bus and were able to start on the first day of school!

Students begin their 2nd day at Guilford County Schools and Alamance-Burlington Schools.

Burlington, NC. Back To School event with ASC and the Alamance Dream Center! Families were able to learn about available resources and services, get school supplies, sign up for infinite campus’s parent portal, play soccer, have their face painted, see friendly families faces and see some new ones!

Oh my gosh, the haircuts brought so much joy!

Thank you Ronny for driving the van and Andy for bringing the boosters!!!

School starts Monday for Alamance-Burlington and Guilford County Schools!
