Good Morning Christ Like Parents,

Due to the potential threat of high winds and heavy flooding, we will be closing at 1pm today to ensure the safety of our scholars and employees.

Last week we ended our Summer Program with Tip&Tee Party Rentals who provided our scholars with bounce houses and concessions and a wonderful way to end the summer. We will miss seeing our school age children during the day but look forward to hearing about all of the exciting new things they learn during the school year.

Willa B. Player became the first African American woman to serve as president of a four-year college when she became the president of Bennett College on October 14, 1956. Throughout her 9 years as president she oversaw the construction of two residence halls, a gymnasium and the first Olympic-size pool at a Black college. In addition, she helped raise $1 million for a science building.

Tameka Brown made history as the first African American woman to earn the title as captain for the Greensboro Fire Department. She has worked for the Fire Department for 10 years prior to this accomplishment.
