I am an academic editor and writing consultant, with a Ph.D. in Educational Studies/Cultural Studies. I primarily work in the higher education sector.
I am a scholar, educator, writer, and academic editor and writing consultant, specializing in the dissertation writing process (proposals and chapters), with a particular focus on qualitative, philosophical, and narrative research. I also work with journal articles, book chapters, academic conference presentations, course syllabi, etc. My editing process encompasses an integration of copy editing
and substantive content editing. Along with paying attention to proper grammar, punctuation, in-text citations, I am concerned with content (substance, flow, clarity, consistency, organization pertaining to sections typically expected in a dissertation proposal, dissertation chapters, etc.), APA sub-headings, and so on. (*Note that I do not work with final Reference pages). Generally speaking, with regard to dissertations/ dissertation proposals, I work on one chapter at a time, with a general turn-around of 2 weeks per full chapter. In many instances, I can complete a chapter sooner - depending on chapter length, depth of editing needed, and other potential issues specific to the document at hand. While I enjoy working with faculty and other education professionals, I especially enjoy working with doctoral students as I have experienced the journey to the Ph.D., myself, and can relate only too well to the ups and downs of the dissertation writing process! At the same time, I have the pleasure of expanding my own scholarship as I continue to read and work closely with so many varied and interesting proposals and studies. I look forward to connecting with you and assisting you in your academic writing journey!
