📚✨ CURIOUS LEARNERS IN ACTION! 🐯🖤💛

AWCMS had a BIG night of learning and connection as we hosted our Annual Title I Meeting & Curriculum Night! Even with a busy evening filled with sports games, our AWCMS families showed up ready to learn, engage, and partner with us in supporting student success. 👏🏽

Our parents had the opportunity to practice our Portrait of a Graduate competency, Curious Learner, as they rotated through informative sessions focused on the AWCMS Redesign, Project-Based Learning, and what learning looks like for our students each day. Families also connected with administrators, teachers, coaches, and BOE members to learn more about the many opportunities and experiences available to our Tigers. 🧠📖🏫

We are grateful for families who make time to be involved, ask questions, explore new ideas, and continue learning alongside us. Together, we are creating joyful, meaningful, and rigorous learning experiences for every Tiger! 🐯✨

🌎🕵️‍♀️ Where in the World? 7th Grade Secret Location Challenge! 🗺️🔎

Last week, AWCMS 7th grade students in Ms. Brecklyn Brown’s class embraced their role as Curious Learners as they researched a secret location of their choice! 🌍✨ Students used the 5 Themes of Geography—Location, Place, Human-Environment Interaction, Movement, and Region—to gather clues and uncover important details about their mystery locations.

On Friday, the investigation got even more exciting! 🔍 Students explored their classmates’ secret locations and used the research provided to make their best guesses. Some locations were easy to identify, while others required students to dig deeper, analyze clues, and put their Critical Thinker & Problem Solver skills to work! 🧠💡

What a fun, meaningful, and rigorous way to learn about geography while putting the Portrait of a Graduate into action! 🎓🌎

📊🐯 Finding the Middle: 6th Grade Math in Action! 🐯📊

Our 6th grade mathematicians are diving into finding the median and quartiles while working toward showing proficiency! 📈✨ Students are building their understanding through a variety of activities—working independently, collaborating with classmates, and even lending a helping hand to others along the way. 🤝🧠

We love seeing our Tigers take ownership of their learning, support one another, and show their Tiger Pride every step of the way! 🖤💛🐯

🌟🐯 LEADING WITH PURPOSE! 🐯🌟

AWCMS House Leaders and Lieutenants recently participated in the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy kick-off! We are excited for this incredible opportunity for our student leaders to develop character, strengthen their leadership skills, and learn how to make a positive impact through servant leadership. A special thank-you to Dalton Morgan, Owner-Operator of the Lake Oconee Chick-fil-A, for generously sponsoring our school’s participation in this meaningful program! 💛🖤

This experience connects beautifully with our AWCMS Portrait of a Graduate, especially the Adaptive Leader competency—students who take initiative, respond positively to challenges, try new approaches, and help others work toward shared goals. We can’t wait to see our House Leaders and Lieutenants grow as confident, compassionate, and purpose-driven leaders! 🐯✨
