The adventure has officially begun! ☀️

Today, we kicked off Canterbury Summers and Canterbury Summers Jr. with a morning rally led by Camp Director Tom Harenstein, who got campers energized for an incredible week ahead. He shared camp expectations, announced our Word of the Day — Adventurous — and introduced a special challenge: campers who go above and beyond in living out that word can earn a coveted Adventure Bracelet!

From there, the fun took off across Canterbury’s beautiful 37-acre campus. Canterbury Summers campers started their day with a spirited game of “The Floor is Lava” in Berry Hall before diving into crafts, games, and outdoor fun. Later on, Canterbury Summers Jr. campers enjoyed a spirited game of soccer on the main lawn.

What makes Canterbury Summers so special isn’t just the activities — it’s the people. Our outstanding counselors serve as incredible role models, creating an environment where campers feel encouraged, included, and excited to try new things.

We can’t wait to see where this summer’s adventures take us. Here’s to a season filled memories that will last long after camp ends. Register your camper today! 💙💛

About last week...

As we’re still catching up on all the wonderful memories from the final days of school, we couldn’t let this fin-tastic first grade visit swim by!

Our friends at the Greensboro Science Center helped bring learning to life when Jessica Gouge, Education Events Manager, stopped by as a surprise reader. After sharing a delightful shark story, she wowed students with a real megalodon tooth and a great white shark tooth!

The room was filled with curiosity and excitement as students got an up-close look at these incredible artifacts.

We’re grateful for community partnerships like this one that spark imagination and help young learners connect classroom lessons to the world around them.

Thank you, Greensboro Science Center!

Through fundraisers held throughout the year, Canterbury’s Class of 2026 was proud to present a class gift to BackPack Beginnings and Out of the Garden Project—two organizations our students regularly serve alongside.

Servant leadership is a cornerstone of the Canterbury experience, and this meaningful gift reflects our students’ commitment to making a difference in the community.

What a beautiful Graduation Day for Canterbury’s Class of 2026!

From the opening bagpipes to the meaningful moments inside Phillips Chapel, the day was filled with tradition, celebration, and reflection.

Middle School teacher Gena Carter delivered a heartfelt commencement speech, recognizing each member of the Class of ’26 with a personal message. Congratulations to Halle Cox, recipient of the A. Burns Jones Award, and Ayoma Eshiet, recipient of the Sterling P. Miller Award.

One of the most memorable moments of the ceremony was the second grade class singing “The Gaelic Blessing” to their eighth grade chapel buddies.

Congratulations, Class of 2026! We can’t wait to see all that lies ahead for you.
