Did you know that Morehead provides student artwork year round for display at Moore Music? Recently, a customer shared how seeing the changing artwork each month brings her joy. A staff member shared a picture of his favorite piece of art from when it was on display in 2019. Thank you Morehead students for sharing your talent with the community!

Thank you so much for getting all of your vaccinations and shots submitted so that we can make sure all of our students are current and up-to-date with state regulations. If you still need assistance or help with getting any shots or NC health assessments, please take advantage of the last two opportunities for free health assessments, sports physicals, and school immunizations.

Message from Morehead principal Lindsay Traumuller:

Good evening Morehead STAR families! This is Mrs. Traumuller, the Morehead Proud Principal with a reminder about our Open House Night. Morehead Elementary School will host our open house night on Thursday, August 20th from 5 - 7. We are dividing the time into smaller groups to hopefully help with crowd size and give you all time with the teachers. We are asking families with the last names starting with A - M to come from 5-6 and families with last names starting with N-Z to come from 6 - 7. We use this night as an opportunity for you to bring supplies and take the typical "first day pictures".

If you are missing any paperwork needed for enrollment, please bring it on Thursday to the main office. Birth certificates, NC State Health Assessments, vaccination records, and proof of address are a few examples. We will need all paperwork to be turned in in order to schedule students and keep our files within state guidelines.

On the first day of school, we will ask you to drop off and go as opposed to walking your child to their classroom. We have found that large crowds scare many of the children. Since we all want a safe and smooth transition on the first day of school, we thank you all for understanding.

After you meet your child's teachers on Thursday, come see us in the cafeteria! The PTA will have:

Morehead PTA Calendar
Spirit wear for sale — kids' and adult sizes

We'd also love to tell you more about the PTA and answer any questions you have. Hope to see you there!
