Zeitgeber, time giver, refers to any of the cues that help set your body's internal clock. Temperature, when you eat, and when you exercise can all influence your circadian rhythms, but the most important zeitgeber is light. Light, artificial or otherwise, helps regulate the body's secretion of melatonin and your sleep-wake cycles. Even though we are all adjusting to some new routines, don't lose sight of the importance of getting bright light exposure in the a.m. and cutting out those lights in the p.m.
