Leadership
The school is led by Dr.

Tyron McMillon, who was recently approved by the GCS School Board as the new principal. His appointment marks a significant milestone in his career, and he’s expressed excitement and gratitude for the opportunity. Vision & Community Focus

As a Leader in Me School, we are committed to developing the leader in every student. By creating more opportunities for student leadership, ownership, and voice, we empower our Bobcats to share their ideas, make meaningful decisions, and take an active role in shaping our school community. 🎉 BESSEMER IS GROWING! 🐾💙💛

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Bessemer Elementary’s progress! Through the hard work of our students and staff, we met growth and, through increased growth and proficiency, moved our school performance grade from an F to a D!

This achievement belongs to OUR ENTIRE BESSEMER COMMUNITY—our students, staff, families, and community partners. Your support, encouragement, and belief in our Bobcats make a difference every single day. We are stronger together!

And we’re not finished! Our goal is to continue getting 1% Better Every Day and keep moving Bessemer forward. One of the most important ways our families can help is by making sure our students are at school EVERY DAY and ON TIME. Every minute of instruction matters, and strong attendance is essential to continued growth and proficiency.

Thank you, Bessemer community, for believing in our students and our school. We’ve made progress—and we’re just getting started!
