OPAS joins millions around the world in mourning the loss of the incomparable Dolly Parton, an American icon whose music, generosity, humor and remarkable spirit inspired generations.

This past season, we had the privilege of celebrating a small piece of Dolly’s extraordinary musical legacy when two-time Grammy Award winner Nicole Zuraitis performed her Grammy-nominated arrangement of “Jolene” during our Queens of Country concert. Nicole will return to OPAS on February 19, when she will once again share the song with our community. Today, that performance carries even greater meaning as we remember the woman behind a song that has been loved, reimagined and shared across generations.

Dolly leaves behind an extraordinary body of work, but her legacy reaches far beyond the music. Through her kindness, generosity and unmistakable ability to bring people together, she showed us the kind of impact one person can have on the world.

We are grateful for the music, the joy and the example she gave us all.

Rest in peace, Dolly. We will always love you!
