Know your facts before you vote.

Our Piedmont Education Foundation — a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) public charity — has published a clear, side-by-side review of the U.S. Senate race between Roy Cooper and Michael Whatley.

They score the candidates against a published set of Piedmont concerns (ICE detainers, federal taxes and spending, data-center costs on the home meter, disaster recovery, schools, crime, manufacturing, and more) using the public record. No endorsements. Just the marks, the sources, and the explanations.

Before you mark FOR, AGAINST, YES, or NO—know what your vote means. 🗳️

North Carolina voters: this short video breaks down three statewide ballot questions covering income taxes, property tax limits, and voter photo ID—plus the proposed $11.5 million parks bond for Greensboro voters.

Would a tax ceiling lower your bill? Would property tax limits cap what your household pays? What would the parks bond cost?

▶️ Watch our 3-minute breakdown to understand the choices and see how our voter card scores them on tax restraint and photo ID.

Before you vote in the Guilford County at-large commissioner race, know your facts.

Fact 1: Mike Perdue is NOT Alan Perdue. Alan Perdue is the District 2 incumbent. Mike Perdue is the Republican nominee for the at-large seat, named on August 21 after Tony Jacobelli withdrew. Same last name, different men, different races.

Fact 2: This seat is on EVERY Guilford County ballot. At-large means countywide. Whether you live in Greensboro, High Point, Summerfield, or Gibsonville, this race is yours.

Fact 3: The 2026 reappraisal hits your 2027 tax bill. The Board of Commissioners sets the rate on that bill. The current rate is 78.95 cents, adopted June 25. The next board decides what happens to it when the new values land.

Fact 4: This board also writes the sheriff and jail checks, and decides whether another sales-tax referendum goes back on your ballot.

Greg Drumwright (D) and Mike Perdue (R) are the two names on the November 3 line. We've marked both against the same concern set we use on every card: the tax rate, the sales-tax question, schools, and public safety.

The November 3 ballot has a property-tax amendment. Your Guilford County bill is a different decision. This video separates the two.

House Bill 1089 would require a limit on how fast a local government’s total property-tax revenue can grow. That is not a cap on one household’s bill.

Your 2026 Guilford bill uses 2025 assessed values because of the SB 889 reappraisal moratorium. The county still set the FY2027 rate at 78.95 cents per $100 — 5.9 cents higher than last year. The 2026 reappraisal values are scheduled for the 2027 bill.

Supporters say a levy limit keeps government from growing faster than the community. Opponents say schools, the jail, and basic services get squeezed unless the rate or the exceptions do the work. Both of those can be true. The amendment does not settle the trade-off for you.

We don’t tell you how to vote. We show you who decides, what the record says, and when the next date is.
