This is what real training looks like.
Not slides.
Not theory.
Not perfect conditions.
A live role player.
A catastrophic neck injury.
A student asking questions in the moment.
This is where learning sticks.
Our instructors don’t just teach—
they become part of the scenario.
Because in real life…
you don’t get a script.
You get seconds.
You get chaos.
You get one chance to act.
Train for that.
How is your training preparing you for the moment that actually matters?

These 6 photos bookend the training at Advanced Trauma Care for Law Enforcement. Beginning on day 1 students begin with hands on skill lectures and “crawl” level table top task instruction under the watchful eyes of experienced instructors with real world reps under their belts. By day 3 they are in a full “run” as they tackle TECC trauma lanes with live fire integration into standardized casualty role players with industry leading wound trainers as they dive into the closest thing to a real injury that we can provide.

From the first slide they saw to the group pic on the last day, this Advanced Trauma Care for Law Enforcement class came with their game faces on. We look forward to sharing the highlights over the next few days. Along with behind the scenes and personal perspectives from instructors.

This Is What Service Looks Like—On or Off Duty 💙

What started as a relaxing beach day quickly turned into a life-saving moment for one Chatham County deputy and his family.

Over Easter weekend, Deputy Herbie Stubbs was at Ocean Isle Beach when he spotted two young swimmers in distress near the pier, struggling against strong currents and clinging to pilings.

Without hesitation, Herbie, his son Chandler, and a family friend Marcus went into the water to help, joining others to form a human chain and bring the swimmers safely back to shore. Stubbs’ wife called 911 as the rescue unfolded.

Thankfully, everyone made it out safely with only minor injuries.

“In these situations, you can’t get worked up,” Stubbs said. “That’s what gets you in trouble.”

We’re proud of Deputy Stubbs for stepping up when it mattered most -- on duty or off. 🫶

Nothing beats visualizing how effectively you stopped the bleed when it comes to building confidence in wound packing.

Here one of our medical instructors is showing the decrease in blood flow and absorption when an arterial wound is effectively packed. wound trainers allow the students to get tabletop reps in during day 1 of our Advanced Trauma class before diving into wearable wounds on role players the next two days.

Also: check out those shades 😎 If you’re sick of boring classroom time, reach out to us! We try to spend as much time outside as possible. 🤙
