First day of school starting back for C4 for the elementary science crew!
We are working on Zoology with aquatic movement of animals! Today, we learned about various types of water based creatures, their roles in God’s creation, and what types of movement they used (nektonic: swimming, benthic: creeping, crawling, planktonic: drifting). Then our students drew out various sea creatures and grouped them in proper categories.
A great first day of exploring and learning!
As the summer is flying by, it is not too late to make educational decisions for your students!
C4 is still accepting 6th-12th grade students for our Tuesday-Thursday group! If you are interested in hearing more, message us for details!

Getting first hand experience in historic context in Colonial Williamsburg!
Our students had the opportunity to finish out our school year with a two day trip to Colonial Williamsburg. Students were able to interact with people of various trades including cobblers, milliners, blacksmiths, silversmiths, Joiners, apothecary workers, cabinet makers, gunsmiths, cooks, and even more.
When we start back up in September, we will begin US history, so this was a great prequel to what we will be covering in the fall!

Our trip to Colonial Williamsburg was a great way to wrap up this school year, and it was a great teaser trailer for US History in the fall! Our students learned a lot from the time period and had a fantastic time!

When you have students wanting to go into the medical field, you shouldn’t wait until they are 18 to allow them to start in depth learning about biology and anatomy!
In class this week, our students took their final exam for world history, wrapped up Grammar and Composition, took their final math tests, and dissected a sheep’s heart.
Tomorrow morning, our students and teachers leave for a two day visit to Colonial Williamsburg for a teaser trailer into what we will be covering next year in US history!
All our students (pictured and not) learned so much this year, and they thrived on the hands-on and discussion-based learning! If you are interested in learning more about our programs, we would love to share! Reach out on messenger or email us at [email protected]

A perfect day to travel to to pick strawberries; visit the peacocks, goats, rabbits, and sheep; and get some chocolate covered strawberry ice cream!
Beside being able to wander around a working farm, spend time with a new friend, and interact with some adorable farm animals, our students collected some fresh fruit for our fruit dissections tomorrow!
Tutoring can be VERY expensive for families. Often private tutoring costs $30-50 an hour. C4 is committed to meet families where they are. Some students work with us at a rate of $12/hour; some work with our teachers for closer to $5/hour. Rates are determined by number of subjects, number of hours, and location of tutoring! Whether your student needs comprehensive instruction or just a subject or two, our instructors want to work with your student! We work with homeschool, private school, and public school students in the Triad. If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to us via Messenger or email at [email protected]

Science!
Our students have been having a blast learning the process of dissection along with the anatomy of various creatures! From most recent to the first round of dissections, students dissected a frog, a large grasshopper, and a crayfish! Soon, our students will get an opportunity to dissect a sheep’s heart as well.
Hands on experiences in learning enrich the education of students and allow them a deeper knowledge of the content we read about and discuss.
Students are also beginning their gardening and construction units! C4 is accepting students for the upcoming year! If you are interested in learning more about our programs, message us or email at [email protected]
For our homeschool group tutoring, we will be accepting students in grades 6-11 this year (2022-2023)!
For one on one tutoring in all subject areas (grades 1-8) or English, Beginners Spanish, History (grades 6-12), contact us for availability and rates!

St. Patrick’s Day was celebrated a day early last week with some of our C4 students! With Irish restaurants closed in preparation for the next day’s festivities, we improvised! Going to World Market and Trader Joe’s, we gathered various Irish products and flavors, prepared our own fresh scones, and feasted!
As we studied a couple months back, St. Patty’s Day isn’t just about leprechauns and four leaf clovers 🍀 but about a man who felt a calling from God to go and minister to the Irish in a time when they had no knowledge of Him!
We had a great day of exploring and feasting and planning out construction projects! One another green note, our students begin The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood!
