We had such a fun time at our Composition Cut and Paste class today! We were playing, cutting, glueing, drawing, coloring, and even having some impromptu jumping jack breaks after the first hour. The popular question at the end of class was “When are we going to be doing this again?” and now we’re counting down the days until our next session!

Group classes are in full swing around here! It’s been so awesome hearing all the different ideas everyone is coming up with and getting to help them develop their ideas into full compositions.

I’m looking forward to starting our July group class this week and can’t wait to see the music these students continue to write over the next several weeks!

Our 2026 spring recital is in the books!

I can’t even begin to express how incredibly proud I am of all my students who played last night. Everyone worked so hard to prepare their recital pieces and did absolutely amazing during their performances.

We were missing a few students in this picture who had to slip out early and about a dozen more that weren’t with us last night, but it was still awesome to have so many students participating in this recital! Can’t wait to see how far everyone has come by next year!

A question I’ve gotten from students several times now is “Do you know that song from Bluey?” and my favorite answer to be able to give is “Yes! Did you know that *insert composer* wrote that piece?”
It’s such a great conversation starter into classical music!
