What's happening at Peck?? Our own celebration of EXCELLENCE!!

Good evening, Peck Elementary School families. This is Dr. Ashley Triplett, principal, with your updates for summer break.

As a reminder, the first day of school is Monday, August 28th. During the summer, our office is open Monday through Thursdays, 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.

To ensure transportation for the 1st day of school, transportation requests must be submitted by June 14, 2023. Requests made after June 14th may not be processed until after the first day of school. You can request bus transportation by visiting www.gcsnc.com and clicking on the Transportation Preference Form under “Quick Links”. Families should complete the Transportation Preference Form if: you are new to GCS, your family has moved or there has been a change in address for the student, your student has changed schools, or your student signed up for transportation last school year but never rode the bus or stopped riding the bus.

Summer meals are available for any child under the age of 18 from June 20th through August 17th. Breakfast is served from 8 until 9 am and lunch is served from 11 am until 12 noon. Meals are served at various schools throughout GCS; the closest locations to us are Archer Elementary, Jones Elementary, and Smith High. No meals will be served the week of July 3rd.

The Out of the Garden fresh mobile market will be at Peck Elementary School the third Saturday of each month at 10:00 am. Fresh produce and non-perishable items will be available to members of the community.

Don't forget to keep reading over the summer break! Students who read at least 900 minutes between June 10th and August 27th will receive one free General Admission Ticket to a Kersey Valley Attraction. Tickets can be used for the Maize Adventure, Spooky Woods, or Kersey Valley Christmas. Students can use the paper reading log that was sent home to log their minutes and then enter their minutes into Beanstack when they return to school.
