We are incredibly proud of our FCCLA chapter for representing Northwest at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference this summer!

Our chapter had three groups earn National Finalist honors, and they achieved outstanding results:

❤️🖤 Please join us in welcoming Dr. Suzanne Hedberg to the Viking Family! 🖤❤️

We're excited to welcome Dr. Suzanne Hedberg to Northwest Guilford Middle School as our new Assistant Principal!

Dr. Hedberg is excited to return not only to her hometown, but also to the very middle school she once attended as a student.

A lifelong educator, Dr. Hedberg earned her bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University, her master's degree in educational leadership from the University of South Florida, and recently, her doctoral degree from Nova Southeastern University. She spent many years living and working in Florida before returning to the Greensboro area in 2018.

Throughout her career, Dr. Hedberg has served in a variety of educational roles, including middle school and high school mathematics teacher, staff developer, and assistant principal. Since returning to Guilford County Schools, she has served as a Multi-Classroom Leader for Mathematics and Assistant Principal at Northeast Guilford Middle School.

Outside of school, Dr. Hedberg enjoys spending time with her family and her three adorable cats. She is thrilled to return to NWMS and is dedicated to serving the school community with passion, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to student success.

🎉We are excited to welcome Donovan Waddell to Northwest Guilford Middle School as our new School Social Worker! ❤️🖤

A proud Greensboro, NC native, Mr. Waddell is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of students and families. He earned his Bachelor of Social Work from North Carolina A&T State University and is dedicated to advocating for, supporting, and empowering students to reach their full potential.

Outside of school, Mr. Waddell is a devoted husband of 12 years and a proud father of two amazing children. He also serves as a high school baseball coach, where he is committed to developing not only skilled athletes, but also young men of character, leadership, and integrity.

Whether in the school, on the field, or in the community, Mr. Waddell's mission is to inspire, uplift, and make a lasting impact—and we're excited for him to bring that passion to Northwest.

Originally from Kernersville, NC, Ms. Hoff brings over 10 years of teaching experience and a passion for helping students connect with history and understand the world around them. She is excited to share her love of social studies with our students and inspire them throughout the school year.

Outside of the classroom, Ms. Hoff enjoys spending time with her family, cheering on the NC State Wolfpack, and all things volleyball after many years of coaching at the club level.

We are excited to welcome Courtney Ferguson to Northwest Guilford Middle School as our newest 6th Grade Science Teacher! ❤️🖤🎉

A Greensboro, NC native, Ms. Ferguson is entering her 15th year in education and brings a passion for inspiring curiosity and a love of discovery through science. She holds a Master’s in Science Education and is National Board Certified, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a commitment to creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students.

After many rewarding years teaching science at the elementary level, Ms. Ferguson is excited to begin a new chapter in middle school and continue helping students explore, question, and make connections through science.

Outside of the classroom, Ms. Ferguson enjoys reading, relaxing at the beach, and spending time with her dog, Quinn.

Mr. Rasch brings 17 years of teaching experience, with all of his experience in third and fourth grade classrooms. Originally from Michigan, he earned his teaching degree from Eastern Michigan University and has a passion for helping students develop a love for mathematics while growing academically, socially, and emotionally.

Outside of the classroom, Mr. Rasch enjoys watching sports, running, and traveling with his family.
