Join us in welcoming Kim Potts to the GFA family as our new Librarian!

After many years of teaching in Arizona, Kim retired and returned home to be closer to family. Kim’s connection to GFA runs deep—her niece attends GFA and her mom, Jan (Brobeck) Kauffman, is a GFA alumna from the Class of 1959.

Kim brings a genuine passion for classical Christian education and a deep love for children’s literature to our library. One of her favorite things is reading to kids. We’re thrilled to have her sharing that love with our students and helping them discover the joy of a great book! Welcome home to GFA, Kim!

We are excited to welcome Maria Earnest to the Greenleaf Friends Academy family as our new Music Teacher!

Maria brings a wealth of experience, with a B.A. in Vocal Performance, K–12 music education certification, years of teaching voice and piano, and experience performing with the Royal Renaissance Singers and OperaTunity in Phoenix.

For Maria, music is an opportunity to worship the Lord and cultivate a love for beauty and excellence. She loves worshiping alongside God’s people and helping lead music in her church’s weekly worship service.

Maria is a wife and mom of three and her youngest is now a GFA student. When she’s not teaching, you’ll find Maria enjoying time with family and friends, studying Scripture, gardening, solving word and logic puzzles, and throwing a good party!

Welcome to GFA, Maria! We’re so glad you’re here!

You know Fall is around the corner when you smell apple pies baking in the oven! Our kindergarten classes had a blast today tying their reading book “How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World” with an immersive experience baking their own pie! We are very grateful for teachers who so creatively look for these kind of embodied learning moments that students will remember for a lifetime. Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Stradley are TOP NOTCH!
