The penguins of the 2024 Field Investigations class hit the Keweenaw Peninsula. Here these Miners repelled 80 feet down a mineshaft and crossed questionable trails and bridges while exploring an underground mine that’s been closed for almost a century. We had quite the adventure and a lot of fun too. Thanks for having us!

The ‘guins are in Gwinn! Some of the YSU Geology students waddled to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for Field Investigations, a class offered through the YSU Geology program. So far they’ve explored the coast of Lake Superior, hiked Sugar Loaf Mountain, discovered plenty of Kona Dolomites and Banded Iron Formations, and then walked through Marquette. Are we Yoopers yet?
