Over one million gallons of Aberdeen water has already been trucked across the state line to supply a massive data center in Ellendale, North Dakota.

Tanker trucks have been making daily runs to keep the Applied Digital facility running. City officials note they are charging double the standard rate, but selling off municipal water to prop up an out of state tech buildout should raise serious red flags.

The irony is that Aberdeen currently has a moratorium on data centers in its own community.

Water is a vital public resource, not a commodity to auction off to the highest bidder. Our region needs transparency, real oversight and long term resource protection before another drop rolls down the highway.
