Hello families!
April's cafeteria taste test featured home fries made with local potatoes from Jekanowski Farm in Hadley. Students at all three elementary schools gave rave reviews and to their delight learned that the local home fries will be featured on their lunch menu later in April alongside french toast sticks and breakfast sausage as a "breakfast for lunch" special.
Check out the simple recipe that you can make at home in about 30 minutes with only a few common ingredients.
Happy cooking!
Chef Kyle

GMS took part in the 2026 Mass Kids Lit Fest this week, hosting author Christina Uss on Monday, May 4th. Uss gave a presentation on "How to Cure Boredom," which ties into her newest book, Midnight Mayhem, a book that was recently nominated for next year's Mass Children's Book Award. GMS will be participating in an all-school read of Midnight Mayhem this quarter as well! Each student will get to take home their copy of the book, thanks to support from a grant partnership with Greenfield Public Library and Libraries Without Borders US.

We have two special events for GMS students to take part in on Friday! Join us in the morning by walking, biking, or rolling to school! Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day is officially celebrated on May 6th, but schools around the nation typically choose one day in May to encourage students to walk, bike, or roll to school to celebrate the joys of active commuting. After school, we hope you and your family will also join us in biking to the library to enjoy root beer floats, popcorn, games, and prizes!
