Important bus route information for the 2026-2027 school year:

Parents and guardians will be receiving an email today with pick-up and drop-off locations and times for their child. Included in this post is a sample email so you know what to expect.

If your email address is not up-to-date in FinalForms, you will not receive the email.

If your child rides a bus, it is important that you review the information carefully. Thank you!

Call the bus garage @ 937-981-2620 if you have questions. Because the email is sent from Transfinder, we will not receive a reply email if you send one.

Information from the August 13, 2026 6:45 p.m. all-call:

Good evening! We are so excited to kick off a new school year with all of you! The phone number used to place this call to you will be the one that we will be using during the school year to notify you with important information. If you are receiving this call by mistake, please contact Mrs. Andie Stark, Administrative Assistant, at 937-981-2152 during regular office hours or by email at [email protected].

We have a number of important items to share with you this evening.

1. Please update your information in FinalForms if you haven’t done so already. It is important that we have current information for you and your child. If you are reading this on social media and did not receive a call and email this evening, it could be because your contact information is not up-to-date.

2. Elementary and middle school class lists will be posted on the building doors tomorrow, August 14, at 3:00 p.m.

3. Open House will be held on Tuesday, August 18. The schedule is as follows:
Buckskin Elementary, Greenfield Elementary, Rainsboro Elementary - 5:00-6:00
Greenfield Middle School - 5:30-6:30
McClain High School - 6:00-7:00 - Freshmen and their parents/guardians will begin in the New Gym @ 6:00. Students in grades 10-12 can pick up their schedules in the Old Gym that evening. Due to an evening soccer match, parents/guardians and student-athletes who play soccer can visit the high school @ 1:00 that afternoon to pick up schedules, locate classrooms, and ask questions.

4. The first day for students in grades 1-12 is Thursday, August 20. Kindergarten breakthrough days are August 20, 21, and 24, followed by half of the students coming on August 25, the other half coming on August 26, and then finally all kindergarten students attending on August 27. Preschool breakthrough days are August 20, 21, 24, and 25, with all preschool students attending on August 27. Preschool and kindergarten teachers and office staff will communicate more detailed information to families.

5. For those whose children ride a bus - You will soon be receiving your child’s pick-up and drop-off times. Please remember that during the beginning of the school year, it is important to be ready ten minutes in advance of the pick-up time and expect that there could be delays in the afternoon while adjustments are made. We appreciate your patience.

6. Students will once again receive FREE breakfast and lunch this school year. We are so excited to be able to offer this opportunity to families.

National Agriscience Finalists!

Congratulations to our McClain Middle School FFA students who have been selected as National Agriscience Finalists!

These students have worked incredibly hard developing their agriscience research projects, and their dedication has earned them the opportunity to compete against students from across the United States at the national level!

As national finalists, they will prepare for their national interviews in September, where they will have the opportunity to showcase their research, knowledge, and hard work. The final results will be announced at the National FFA Convention this fall.

We are incredibly proud of these students and all they have accomplished through agricultural education and the FFA. Congratulations on this incredible achievement, and best of luck as you prepare for nationals! We will be cheering you on every step of the way!

The start of the school year is just around the corner! Last year, we asked all parents and guardians to ensure that transportation information is updated in advance of the school year beginning, and for that reason, things started very smoothly for our drivers! What an unforgettable week at Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum!

Our middle school FFA members spent the week building leadership skills, making lifelong memories, and stepping outside their comfort zones. From learning to build campfires to paddleboarding, kayaking, and trying new activities, our students embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and courage.

Experiences like these help students grow as leaders, gain confidence, and create friendships that will last for years to come.

We are so grateful to be able to provide opportunities like Ohio FFA Camp where learning extends far beyond the classroom. Here’s to the memories made, the new skills gained, and another amazing year of Middle School FFA!

Reminders:
- Tiger Bites will not be operating on Friday, July 3.
- All school rules must be followed while waiting in line for meals, which means that inappropriate language, the use of to***co products, and disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated. We recommend not showing up too early as there are plenty of meals for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation. We want everyone to have a positive experience.
