Just some memories for now. More will come!
The Whitnall Red Cross Club promotes mental, emotional health awareness and serves the community. A focus is on embracing differences, healthy choices, preventing unhealthy behaviors, stress management, and emotional wellness. We stand up for what we believe in, support peers, and participate in community service projects. In addition to mental health awareness campaigns, we provide educational and community resources. The club participates in group activities such as advocating for awareness and embracing diversity, in addition to fundraisers, donations, and service projects to lend a hand to those that need support. The goal of the RCC is to help students develop skills that can be utilized and shared throughout their high school career and into adulthood. Community service helps everyone, including YOU( Colleges and Jobs look for service work). An example of a very rewarding community project we have done for several years is volunteering at an MPS elementary school with students who struggle with poverty. We purchase gifts, wrap and personalize them for an entire class. Our club first teaches a lesson on gratitude to the students and we make a holiday craft with the class before surprising the children with the gifts. Our current Red Cross service project is gathering donations to fill a backpack of necessities for the homeless and local shelters. Join us for a rewarding and enriching extracurricular experience! Students involved are active members of the Red Cross organization!
