💜 1 in 5 U.S. adults experiences a mental health condition each year.

That means someone you know, work with, care about, or see every day may be carrying more than you realize.

A statistic like this reminds us why community matters.

At Recovery Café of Hancock County, we believe connection can make a difference. Having a safe place to show up, be heard, build relationships, and feel accepted can be an important part of healing and recovery.

You don’t have to wait until someone is struggling to reach out.

☕ Share a cup of coffee.
💬 Start a conversation.
🤝 Check in on someone.
💜 Remind people they belong.

Sometimes a little connection can mean more than we know.

🤔 Have you ever heard of MRT (Moral Reconation Therapy)?

MRT is an evidence-based program designed to help people make positive, lasting changes in their lives. It focuses on improving decision-making, building healthy relationships, increasing personal responsibility, and developing stronger moral reasoning.

Through guided workbook exercises and group discussions, participants learn to:
✅ Recognize unhealthy thinking patterns
✅ Take responsibility for their choices
✅ Build self-esteem and confidence
✅ Improve relationships
✅ Reduce the risk of returning to old behaviors
✅ Create a healthier, more purposeful future

MRT has been used successfully with individuals in recovery, the criminal justice system, and anyone who wants to grow personally and make positive life changes.

At the Recovery Café, we believe that recovery is about more than just stopping harmful behaviors—it's about becoming the person you were always meant to be. MRT is one tool that can help make that transformation possible.

📞 Interested in learning more? Give us a call or send us a message—we'd be happy to answer your questions and help you determine if MRT is right for you.

If you are currently on probation, home detention, work release, Drug Court, or Behavioral Health Court, talk with your case manager, probation officer, or court team about getting a referral for MRT.

💬 Have you ever participated in MRT, or is this the first time you've heard about it? Share your thoughts in the comments—we'd love to hear from you!

🧠💙 Did You Know?

📊 Self-Care & Mental Health Statistic:
People who regularly practice self-care—like getting enough sleep, moving their bodies, managing stress, and staying connected with others—tend to have better mental well-being and are less likely to experience symptoms of anxiety and depression.

🌿 Fun Fact:
Your brain loves breaks! Even taking a 10–15 minute walk, practicing a few minutes of deep breathing, or stepping outside into nature can help reduce stress, improve your mood, and sharpen your focus.

Here's your reminder today: Self-care isn't selfish. You can't pour from an empty cup. Taking care of yourself allows you to show up as the best version of yourself for your family, your friends, your work, or your recovery.

💬 Let's encourage each other!

💙 Self-care isn't selfish... it's necessary.

When life gets busy, self-care is often the first thing we push aside. We tell ourselves we'll rest later, deal with our stress later, or take care of ourselves after everyone else is taken care of.

But here's the truth: You can't pour from an empty cup.

Self-care looks different for everyone. It might mean:
✨ Going for a walk.
✨ Attending a recovery meeting.
✨ Talking to a friend or Peer Recovery Coach.
✨ Setting healthy boundaries.
✨ Taking a shower, eating a healthy meal, or getting enough sleep.
✨ Reading your Bible, praying, or spending quiet time reflecting.
✨ Simply taking a few deep breaths and giving yourself grace.

Self-care isn't about being perfect, it's about making intentional choices that protect your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Today, take a few minutes to do something that fills your cup. You deserve that.

💬 What is one self-care habit that help you feel recharged or brings you peace?
